Editorial Lackey Mike Arpon and I spent our Veterans Day morning yanking his Type R engine out of his hatchback. If you happen to check out the magazine, then you’re probably familiar with his Si – it’s got a B18C ITR powertrain, red Mugen RnRs, TEIN coilovers, Mugen header, blah, blah, blah. Well, the B-series is coming out and something a whole lot better is going in. No, it’s not a K20A. Actually, the same B18C is going back in but, like I said, it’s gonna be a whole lot better. Mike’s brother-in-law, John Whatley, of Nalani Whatley fame, is handling engine-building duties on the B. It’ll be sleeved and punched out thanks to Blueprint, have a set of TWM ITBs bolted up, and get complete bottom- and top-end makeovers. We’ll keep you posted on the engine as it progresses.
